You will be aware that Renfrewshire is currently in level 3 of the recently introduced Scottish Government Covid-19 protection levels.
This means there is some extra guidance for schools to help keep everyone safe and we’ve listed what that means for us here:
- indoor PE can resume, however we will aim to be outdoors whenever possible (current changing arrangements remain)
- school staff will wear face coverings in all communal areas of the school
- visitors, parents and carers should wear a face covering when entering the school or playground and at pick-up and drop-off times
- we need to continue to ventilate rooms during the colder months and will try to balance this with keeping a comfortable temperature, however we encourage pupils to wear some additional layers if that helps them feel more comfortable
The above is in addition to the existing safety measures in school which follow the national guidance to a very high standard, such as enhanced cleaning, increased hygiene routines, use of face coverings when moving around shared areas (and in classes for S4-6), ensuring good ventilation and adapted class organisation to minimise movement and reduce groupings.
More information on what the council is doing to keep schools safe is available on the council website.
We know the ongoing situation is very challenging for everyone, but we are doing all we can to keep our school safe and maintain a welcoming and nurturing learning environment for pupils.
The response from pupils, families and staff has been excellent and I am very grateful to all for the continued support.
Please stay safe at home and follow the latest public health advice. If there is anything else you wish to discuss with us please contact the school directly.
