S1-3
Home learning activities will continue to be provided to S1-3 pupils throughout this term and until a return to school is possible. There are discussions nationally about how we can best support young people in their learning this term and as guidance becomes available our staff will adapt and respond as required.
Renfrewshire Council has produced a guide for parents on remote learning which contains useful advice and links. Access it here:
Guidance on Remote Learning Secondary Parents – FINAL
Note that later this term (date to be confirmed) S1-3 pupils will ‘move up’ a year and pupils in ‘new’ S3 and S4 will work on the subject choices they made earlier this year.
For enquiries about home learning tasks please refer to the Show My Homework (Satchel One) app, or contact us by email.
S4 Into S5 and S5 Into S6
Following the cancellation of the SQA examinations pupils in S4-6 effectively finished their current courses early. Pupils who plan to return to school for session 2020-21 will shortly ‘move up a year’ and begin working towards the new qualifications they will have chosen prior to school closure.
We will be in contact with some pupils this week where there any issues with options choices (for example where there are courses which can no longer run or are oversubscribed).
We are aiming to provide every pupil in (new) S5/6 with their confirmed courses for session 2020-21 next week. Learning activity for these courses will begin to be provided by departments from Monday 11th May via Show My Homework.
Please note that when school staff contact pupils and families, call numbers will be withheld so if you get an ‘unknown’ caller it could be the school so please answer.
For enquiries about new S5/6 courses please contact us by email.
S6
S6 pupils officially leave school at the end of May and we are keen to capture their achievements and contributions in leadership and volunteering by accrediting with Saltire Awards. We know many of our S6 pupils contributed time throughout the session to voluntary school and community activities. S6 pupils can now apply for an award based on the amount of time they gave and details on this will be shared via Show My Homework.
