Welcome back

We had some first-footers see in the new year at Renfrew High – with the local YMCA setting up home in the school for the next couple of months while their premises undergoes an exciting renovation.  Welcome on board – and we hope you enjoy your stay.

2020 Vision

An overview of the school improvement plan (2019/20) documenting key priorities and actionable plans (focused on learning, achieving and working together) can be accessed via the below link.

Sniff it out!

S1 lunchtime science club began the year with a colourful concoction of skittles based chromatography… and armpit fudge.  Sniff it out on Tuesday lunchtimes.  Elsewhere in Science, S1 classes have got to the heart of the matter, learning about the structure of the heart through dissection… and have been propelling rockets skywards from the school grounds.

Spot-kick success

Congratulations to the boys U’13 football team who came out on top against St Luke’s High School in the P&D Cup.  After a thrilling match finished 4-4, the boys won from the resultant kicks from the penalty spot.

Great Lengths

Kyle Wong (S2) successfully competed at the recent Scottish Schools Swimming Finals – finishing third in the 100 metre backstroke and fourth in the 200 metre backstroke competitions.

Art to inspire

A host of S1-3 art work was entered into Renfrewshire Council’s annual Inspired art competition – with entries on display at Tannanhill Centre, Paisley.  Inspired is the annual exhibition of artwork from children and young people in schools and nurseries across Renfrewshire.

My World of Work Week

My World of Work Week at Renfrew High focused on skills development and learning pathways across the curriculum to help pupils bridge subject study and vocational skills in preparedness for future career paths @MYWOW.  S6 students were on hand to help support and offer advice to S2 pupils readying to pick subjects.

Designs for the Future

Miss Bowie’s below info-graphic sketched out the details of the pupil learner leadership team’s achievements to date… and plans for the future.  The team have recently been looking into potential design changes across the school.  Watch this space #OldPlacesNewSpaces

Renfrew Rules

And finally, Renfrew High welcomed pop band New Rules to school – performing their latest hits to an excitable crowd of first and second years.  Previously, the band have supported Little Mix on tour, and are set to begin their own national tour.
